ZJILEA was founded in June 2024 by Charlevienne Ortela, a multidisciplinary creative with roots in Curaçao and a deep personal connection to the art of nails. What began as a simple joy, getting her nails done and expressing herself through bold designs, quickly grew into a vision: to create a brand where self-expression meets cultural storytelling, and every set becomes a wearable work of art.
Influenced by her Caribbean background and the bold, expressive beauty traditions of women from Curaçao, Charlevienne draws inspiration from vibrant colors, rich textures, and the unapologetic confidence seen in island nail culture. ZJILEA, named after the Papiamentu phrase for “in your element,” captures that same spirit, celebrating authenticity, creativity, and personal style.
